Obituary: Elio Mauro, 59

March 9, 1965 – February 25, 2025

Elio Mauro, born on March 9, 1965, of Reading, was sent to his eternal home on February 25, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Elio was the loving Husband to Michelle Mauro and a proud Father to their daughter, Graziella Mauro. He was the beloved son of Late Luigi Mauro and Felicia Mauro.

Elio is survived by his sisters Elvira Tahajian and her Husband Leo Tahajian, and Rita Mackeil and her husband Michael Mackeil and his brother Emilio Mauro and his girlfriend Jasmine Di Rienzo. His Sister in law Donna Bursey.  He also leaves behind Nieces Sarah Angeloni, Julia Mackeil and Melissa Bursey and nephews Michael Mackeil and Eric Bursey who adored him dearly. 

Elio was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Those who knew Elio will remember him for his deep devotion to his wife and his daughter (Gigi), his Italian heritage, his infectious smile, overwhelming laughter and kindness to everyone he encountered. He had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.

The Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Elio Mauro will be held at the Douglass, Edgerley & Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading on Saturday, March 1 from 8-9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Agnes Church 186 Woburn St., Reading at 10am. Burial will follow at Wood End Cemetery in Reading.
