- Unlicensed Operation
On Feb. 15, at approximately 1:59 a.m., Reading Police were operating in the area of Main Street when they observed a blue Mazda that was stopped on the wrong side of the road.
Police immediately initiated a motor vehicle stop. While approaching the vehicle officers observed a child in the back seat, and that the driver appeared to be passed out. The car was still running.
Officers attempted to wake the driver, who drove off toward Jacobs Way and Augustus Court once they were awake. While driving away, officers observed the vehicle drive over a curb before pulling back onto the road and coming to a stop.
Officers approached the vehicle and identified the driver as TARRANT. During the stop, officers determined that TARRANT was driving with an expired license. While speaking with TARRANT, officers detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from TARRANT’s person.
The child was unharmed and released into the care of a family member.
TARRANT was arrested without incident. She was arraigned in Woburn District Court on Tuesday, Feb. 18.
