Reading, MA – The Residence at Pearl Street, an LCB Senior Living community in Reading, will experience a heartfelt Valentine’s Day celebration this Friday, thanks to a special visit from Joshua Eaton Elementary School students. The students will hand-deliver homemade Valentine’s Day cards to residents, spreading joy and kindness throughout the senior living community.
“Joshua Eaton remains dedicated to building a student community that promotes learning, curiosity, inclusivity, and kindness,” said Erin Hollis, Community Service Co-Chair for the Joshua Eaton Elementary School PTO. “Throughout the year, students participate in initiatives that directly benefit the Reading community. This visit to The Residence at Pearl Street goes one step further, allowing students to connect with members of their community on a more personal level. Valentine’s Day provides the perfect backdrop to bring these two groups together.”
The initiative is part of the school’s ongoing commitment to fostering community engagement. The students’ visit provides an opportunity for meaningful intergenerational connections, as they brighten the residents’ day with thoughtful, handcrafted cards and warm interactions.
“We had a wonderful visit with the families from Joshua Eaton Elementary School,” said Beverly Curry, Resident Engagement Director at The Residence at Pearl Street. “The residents had smiles from ear to ear and loved the visit so much! The children were so friendly and kind, interacting beautifully with the residents. Many residents have already asked if the visits could become a regular occurrence.”
