BOSTON – Reading resident Mia Pantano recently completed a winter internship working in the State House office of House Minority Leader Bradley H. Jones, Jr. (R-North Reading).
As an intern, Pantano was able to gain a hands-on look at the legislative process by working with Representative Jones and his staff to assist with constituent services issues and conduct policy research.
Pantano is a senior student-athlete at Roger Williams University, where she is pursuing a degree in political science, specializing in domestic political theory, government procedure, and public policy analysis, with a minor in communications and media. She has earned academic Dean’s List Honors since her freshman year and is currently a member of the university’s women’s lacrosse team.
A 2021 graduate of Reading Memorial High School, Pantano was previously inducted into the RMHS National Honor Society. She was a member of the RMHS lacrosse and cross country teams, earning seven total letters over four years.
In addition to serving as the RMHS lacrosse team tri-captain, Pantano received the 2021 Attack MVP and Coaches Award, was a 2021 Middlesex League All-Star, and was named to the Eastern Massachusetts Girls Lacrosse Association All-Star Second Team. She also played for the Bay State Bullets lacrosse club team.
While a student at RMHS, Pantano received the 2018 Most Improved Award and 2020 Coaches Award in cross country. She also placed 28th at the 2018 State Coaches Meet.
“Mia is a gifted student who has excelled in academics and athletics at both the high school and college levels,” said Representative Jones. “My staff and I were fortunate to have her working as an intern in my Boston office, where she was able to perform work that aligns with her longtime passion for politics. She has a promising future ahead of her, and I wish her all the best.”
