Thomas A. Colella, Jr., of Woburn, formerly of Reading, passed away after a long illness on Saturday, November 2, 2024. He was 59 years of age.
Born in Medford and raised in Reading, he was the son of Thomas A. Colella, Sr. of Woburn, and the late Barbara (Kelly) Colella; and he is survived by his life-partner, Barbara Berg of Concord, New Hampshire.
Thomas attended Reading schools and was a graduate of Reading High School, Class of 1983. He went on to study art at the Butera School of Art in Boston.
A talented and versatile artist, Thomas not only created traditional art, but his work also included truck lettering and sign painting. He owned and operated his own business creating canvas awnings and other canvas products for the boating industry until suffering from a stroke a year ago.
In his free time, Thomas enjoyed remote-control cars and boats with his dad. He loved spending time at the family camp in New Hampshire.
In addition to his father Thomas, Sr.; and his devoted life-partner Barbara; Thomas is survived by his three sisters, Dawn Moran and her husband Robert of Reading, Michelle Colella of Wakefield, and Marie Zwicker and her husband Thomas of Woburn. He is also survived by his four nieces and nephews, Brianna and Leon Moran, and Jamie and Tommy Zwicker.
Visiting hours will be at the Douglass, Edgerley & Bessom Funeral Home, 25 Sanborn St. (cor. of Woburn St.) Reading on Tuesday, November 12 from 4:00-7:00 pm. A private funeral for the family will take place the next day.
