This Tuesday was a difficult loss. Not because my preferred taxation structure or foreign policy stance didn’t win the night. But because a convicted felon who disregards the Constitution has become the most powerful man in the country. Because people in our community are terrified he will fulfill his promises to strip their basic human rights away. This isn’t about differences of opinion anymore.
I founded the POP Huddle—a Reading-based organization—in 2017 because taking action was a great antidote to the powerlessness, anger, and fear I felt in the weeks following the election.
Since that time, I have been proud of our group’s work, from fighting book ban attempts to hosting the Reading Pride Parade, but we can always do more. I look forward to doing that, but I need your help.
If you feel powerless, angry, and afraid, taking action may be an antidote for you too. Let’s continue to bring kindness and inclusivity to our community. Please fill out the form here to join in the effort.
