Wakefield, MA — The Wakefield Arts and Crafts Society held a special “Guest Craft Day” where guests could try three different mini-workshops for free. Workshops in alcohol ink, jeweled holiday ornaments, and several different greeting card-making techniques were available. After the crafting, a beautiful “show and tell” of members’ works showed off a wide variety of items made by members, including knitted, crocheted, quilted, Halloween-themed, embroidered, and other unique media. A fine array of food and dessert was served.
Pictured in the photo are members Nancy Kaufmann, Sandy Panico, Mary Mackey, and Rosanne Burton.
The Wakefield Arts and Crafts Society welcomes new members who are both experienced crafters and those who want to learn. We meet the first Tuesday of the month at the Wakefield-Lynnfield United Methodist Church, 273 Vernon Street in Wakefield. The building is handicap accessible. Our next meeting is November 5 and will feature a workshop led by a member that includes making fabric rosettes to decorate a tea towel.
