Obituary: Eleanor J. (McKenney) Johnson, 93

November 8, 1930 — August 3, 2024

Eleanor Johnson, of Kingston, New Hampshire, formerly of Reading, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2024. She was 93 years old.

Eleanor was born on November 8, 1930, and lived in Reading, Massachusetts, for 88 years before moving to Kingston, New Hampshire, five years ago.

Eleanor was a homemaker who raised seven children. When her children were older, she worked as a home health aide and took care of the elderly. She did this until she was 80.

She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Eleanor also enjoyed going to the hairdresser, old western movies, and watching the Patriots! She also enjoyed going out to eat with family.

Eleanor was the beloved wife of the late Albert F Johnson and the cherished mother to Carol Bergin and her husband Jack, Karen Sullo and her husband John, Albert Johnson Jr and his wife Sandra, Lynne Johnson and her husband Bob, Cheryl Nagle and her husband Bob, Laureen Smith and her husband Ronnie and John Johnson. She is also lovingly survived by her niece Sharon Hagen

Eleanor is also the loving grandmother of 17 grandchildren, great-grandmother of 39, and great-great-grandmother of one. She was predeceased by her grandson, Albert F. Johnson, III.

She was very loved and will be greatly missed by her family.

Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories with Eleanor’s Family on Friday August 9th from 4pm to 7pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden Street READING. Parking attendants and elevator available.

A Graveside Service reuniting Eleanor with her husband Albert will take place on Saturday, August 10th at 10am at Wood End Cemetery, Reading.
