Obituary: Mary “Marcia” Harding, 83

1940 – 2024

Mary “Marcia” Harding, 83, of Reading and a former longtime resident of Woburn, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Windrose at Woburn on Monday, July 29. She was the loving wife of 60 years to Thomas W. Harding.

Marcia was born in Malden, one of three daughters of Francis and Margaret (Connor) Mulready. She was educated in the Malden school system and graduated from the Malden Catholic Girls School.

For many years Marcia was able to make a warm and loving home for her family in Woburn, and also at Humarock Beach in Scituate where she and her husband owned a beach home.

Days at Humarock Beach were always filled with fun and relaxation. Marcia found tranquility on the beach, relaxing in the sun or lounging by the water. She was never far from her husband who famously would host his ‘Happy Hours at Humarock’ complete with drinks, food and fun amongst not only neighbors, but normal beach goers as well. She was always fun to be around and a fun mother to her daughter, Sandy.

When not at the Beach or making a loving and warm home for Tom and Sandy, Marcia and Tom enjoyed taking cruises. Like true cruise goers, one was never enough and they enjoyed the cultures and scenery of Panama, almost all the Caribbean Islands, Alaska and Hawaii. above all else however she enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren, Emily and Connor.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Margaret Donahue and Jane Blazina.

Marcia is survived by her loving husband, Thomas W. Harding of Reading, her daughter Sandra Hill and her husband, Scott of Wilmington, and her two grandchildren, Emily and Connor Hill as well as several nieces, nephews and close friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral home service on Monday August 5, 2024 at 12:30PM At the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St. Burlington. Burial will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. A period of visitation will precede the funeral service from 11:30AM to 12:30PM.
