Dear Editor:

I am writing to recognize and thank the performers, hosts, organizers, and attendees of Reading Porchfest 2024, which was held last Saturday, June 22, with 95 acts at 44 locations.

To me, Porchfest is what community is all about. The event was a resounding success, eliciting joy in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. As I looked around our yard I felt such gratitude for the opportunity to enjoy fellowship with our neighbors and friends. Our performers, The Sniveling Norburys, were extremely talented and entertaining, delighting the audience with tunes by Queen, The Beatles, Paul Simon, and many more. The weather went from a drizzle to a total downpour during the 90-minute set, yet somehow the crowd continued to grow as the rain persisted. What mattered most was being together to enjoy the show.

Once again, Alan and Ace Foulds did a phenomenal job of organizing Reading Porchfest. Their enthusiasm for the event was contagious, and our excitement only grew as Porchfest approached. Of course, this event would not be possible without the performers, hosts, and audience members. We truly appreciate the preparation, rehearsals and effort of all the performers, the hospitality of the many hosts across Reading, and the liveliness of the crowds in attendance. There are few events that appeal to all members of a community, and Reading Porchfest 2024 was one that brought the entire community together. Rock on, Reading!

Appreciatively,
