Reading Police Arrest and Charge Wilmington Woman with OUI

READING – Chief David Clark reports that the Reading Police Department arrested and charged a Wilmington woman with operating under the influence. 

MEGAN NAJARIAN, AGE 49, of WILMINGTON, was arrested and charged with the following: 

  • Operating Under the Influence (Second Offense) 
  • Marked Lanes Violation 
  • Negligent Operation of Motor Vehicle  
  • Speeding 
  • Two Counts of Child Endangerment while Operating Under the Influence 

On Thursday, June 20, at approximately 8:54 p.m. Reading Police were on patrol in the area of Salem and Harrison Street and observed a white Honda Odyssey traveling westbound on Salem Street attempting to turn at a high rate of speed.

Officers activated emergency lights and after several attempts were able to successfully pull the vehicle over on Lowell Street.  

While speaking with the driver of the vehicle, determined to be NAJARIAN, officers observed two children in the back seat.

A preliminary investigation, including a field sobriety test, determined that NAJARIAN was operating under the influence.  

NAJARIAN was arrested without incident. Both children were unharmed and released into the care of their father. 

Police subsequently determined that NAJARIAN‘s blood alcohol level was .20, more than twice the legal limit.

NAJARIAN is schedualed to be arraigned in Woburn District Court on Friday. 

All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
