Marilyn L. (DeMarsh) Brooks, age 87, of Reading, MA, formerly of Forestville, Butler, and Middletown, OH, passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.
Marilyn was born in Forestville, PA, on Oct. 10, 1936, to Theodore “Ted” and Dorothy M. (Kays) DeMarsh.
Marilyn was raised in Forestville and was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. She married her PSU college sweetheart, Alfred C. Brooks in St. Anthony’s Church on June 28, 1958. While living in MA, she was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Woburn, MA.
She was a graduate of Slippery Rock High School in 1954, Penn State University in 1958, and she did graduate work at Duquesne University.
Marilyn was a retired schoolteacher, and she served as a Chaplin at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, while living in the Butler area.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred at home, a son, Thomas S. Brooks, Boston, MA, a brother, Paul C. DeMarsh, Forestville, PA, a sister-in-law, Linda DeMarsh, Cranberry Township, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Alfred “Ted” Brooks, a sister, Barbara Herndon, a brother, Edward DeMarsh, and a nephew, Paul E. DeMarsh.

Funeral Service: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony’s Church, 282 Boyers Road, Forestville, PA on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
Visitation Hours: Cunningham Funeral Home, Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City, on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
Burial: St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Harrisville, PA.
