READING – Chief David Clark reports that the Reading Police Department arrested and charged a Boxford woman with operating under the influence.

SARAH LADD, AGE 45 of BOXFORD, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Operating Under the Influence (Liquor)
  • Negligent Operation of Motor Vehicle

On Saturday, May 25, at approximately 12:31 a.m., Reading Police responded to the area of Cross Street for reports of a motor vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a black Mercedes with significant front-end damage facing eastbound on Cross Street and a black Volvo that was parked on the side of the road facing westbound.

There were no reported injuries.

A preliminary investigation determined that the Mercedes crashed into the Volvo head-on and then spun out. The Volvo was unoccupied.

Officers conducted a field sobriety test on the driver of the Mercedes, determined to be LADD.

LADD was placed under arrest without incident. She was arraigned in Woburn District Court on Tuesday.
