The following is a message from Community Development Director Andrew Macnichol
Good morning Reading business community,
Andrew MacNichol here, Community Development Director for the Town of Reading. I was reaching out to provide an update on the Paid Parking Program implementation in the downtown parking lots. This initiative has been long ongoing and faced a number of delays (for a number of reasons), but we have looked to sort and move it forward.
At this time, our anticipated “Go Live” date for the paid parking kiosks and supporting infrastructure is scheduled for June 3, 2024. The kiosks are likely to be installed before then though so that we can ensure all is running as expected. All rates, schedules and programs remain as previously discussed.
We are preparing for re-awareness building of this throughout the month of May. We will conduct a mailing to downtown properties and surrounding area and conduct outreach through our social media/website/electronic blasts. Signage and other will be instilled as well. Of course if you would like to include the attached within windows/tables/other to share I am happy to provide prints.
