Saturday afternoon, May 11
Reading, MA—Whether you’re a dog person, a cat person, or an all-animals-all-the-time kind of person, you’ll enjoy the library’s first-ever Animal Extravaganza on Saturday, May 11, from 12:00 – 4:30 pm. Join us in celebrating humans and their furry, feathered, and four-legged friends with fun activities, live animal demonstrations, including snakes and mini-horses, and representatives from local animal rescue organizations. There will be lots to do on the library lawn, including:
- Animal selfie station – Say cheese! Snap a photo using fun props.
- Pet rocks – Prefer a low-maintenance pet? Enjoy a classic by decorating a pet rock.
- DIY pet toys – Make pet-safe toys to take home.
- Make a Mask – Decorate your own animal mask and go wild!
- Story Walk – Take a stroll around the library grounds to read a story on display.
In addition, we’ll host a very special, one-day-only Pet Food Donation Drive. On Saturday, May 11, donate to a good cause and bring a can or bag of pet food or treats to the Community Room. Donations will support the MSPCA for animals in need. All items must be new, sealed, and not expired.
Activities will take place outside and on the library’s ground floor, rain or shine.
Well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome to attend outside events, weather permitting.
