Brian F. Desmond of Reading passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Winchester Hospital. He was 84 years of age. A true American Hero, Brian proudly defended our freedom by serving as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War, and he was a retired Reading Police Officer.
Brian was also a barber at Chief’s Barber Shop in Reading. Brian was the beloved husband of the late Natalie (Scanlon) Desmond. He was the devoted father of Jennifer Riley and her husband, Kevin, and the late Lisa Desmond. Brian was the cherished brother of Terrence Desmond, Sheila Fortunata, and her husband Felix, Michael Desmond, and his wife Anne and the late Kevin Desmond, Joan King, James, Dermot, and Gael Desmond.
A Funeral Service Celebrating Brian’s Eternal Life will be held on Friday, February 17, at 11am in the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family on Thursday, February 16 from 4-8 in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and ramped entrance available.
