Ann Marie Doiron, the beloved daughter of the late Joseph (Al) and Ann (Nancy) (MacGillivray) Doiron, passed away on Friday, February 23 rd , 2024 at the age of 63.

Ann Marie was born in Tewksbury but grew up in Somerville with her five siblings and attended some years at Somerville High School. She traveled extensively with her Mom and Dad wherever they went. It was the three of them in Cape George, Antigonish, NS during the summer months and then to Florida for the winter where Al and Nancy resided in several locations in Tampa, and Cape Coral. When her parents passed her name was added to a waiting list by her family to join the local non-profit assisted living community. Ann Marie joined as a resident of Communitas Independent Living (formerly EMARC) in Wakefield in 2005. She volunteered her time helping with reception at EMARC, and at one point assisted in orientation by talking about the residential division, and being an important part of the community. She also volunteered at DogWatch and SweetHeart Plastics. Ann Marie moved from her last independent home in 2012 when she became a member of the Rustic Lane family.

Ann Marie was asked to speak several times to 5th and 6th graders at a local Reading elementary school about what her life was like as a member of Communitas. She was a participant in the Special Olympics when they were held in Cape Cod in October of 2014 and won both a Gold and Silver medal. In December of that same year, Communitas held their annual Gala fundraiser which was hosted by Lenny Clarke (local grown comedian). He invited Ann Marie up on stage to co-host with him and it was a spectacular evening. Most recently in April 2023, Ann Marie received a Lifesaver Award from the Reading Fire Department for her heroic action to call 911 when one of her roommates was having a medical emergency.

She also participated in Middlesex Citizen Classes where she became an honorary citizen officer. Ann Marie had a loving and infectious personality. She enjoyed eating out ‘anywhere’ but especially loved Chinese, Seafood, McDonalds, and Dunkin’ ice-coffees. Her passions were her word search puzzle books, scratch tickets, her tablet to watch Netflix, cards, and spending time with her many friends and family. She will be deeply missed by her loving family, cousins and many friends.
