Frances MacLeod, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully on February 13 with her daughter by her side. Frances MacLeod, 98 a longtime resident of Reading, MA, (formerly of Wakefield, MA.) held private services at the Douglass, Edgerley & Bessom Funeral Home in Reading.
Frances last worked for the Reading Water Dept. She was known for her intelligence, resilience, resourcefulness, humor, and willingness to share life’s lessons in order to emulate how to live independently, at home, to the age of 98. She was also known for her copious notes, and had a passion for knowledge and education.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Stone of Woburn, MA, her sister Ann West of Salem, NH, brother Emmanuel Salesi of Lawrence, MA, granddaughter Kimberly Goodwin and Her husband Jeffery Goodwin, great-granddaughter Charlotte Goodwin, great-grandson Beckett Goodwin, (all from Shrewsbury, MA), nieces Stacey West of Sandown, NH, and Karen West of Sarasota, FL, Lynda Orlando, Joseph Salesi, and Teresa, and great nieces and nephews Emily, Phoebe, Josie, Conor, Riordan, Robert, Pete, Jennifer, Joseph, Anthony, Michael, Kathy, Tim, Emily, and Madeline.
She will be laid to rest at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Reading between her late daughter, Diane Blomerth and her long time husband Murdock (Ross) MacLeod.
