Dorothy M. O’Keefe, 93, of North Andover, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2024. She was born in Somerville MA, to the late Patrick J. and Mary (Morande) McCloskey. She was a graduate of Somerville High School. She was the wife of the late Arthur V. O’Keefe to whom she was married for 52 years before his passing.
Dottie was a stay-at-home mother of five who also did volunteer work for her church, the Pine Street Inn and the Cub Scouts. Later, she worked in the Reading School System as a teacher’s aide for students with special needs. She was a proud member of the TOPS community, enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, and was an avid reader.
Dottie is survived by her children, Ellen M. Andersen and her husband Scott, Arthur V. O’Keefe and his wife Rebecca, Mary C. Hulse, Matthew J. O’Keefe and his wife Susan Ecker. She was predeceased by her son Stephen.
Her grandchildren Daniel, Timothy, Nancy, Brendan, Ryan, and Michael. Her great-grandchildren are Cooper, Tristan, Lila, Riley, Jolene, Freya, Penny, Circe, Aelish, and Maeve. She is also survived by her brother, James McCloskey, sister-in-law, Evelyn McCloskey, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 10 am at St. Michael Parish in North Andover, followed by a burial at Charles Lawn Cemetery in Reading, MA. Family and friends are welcome to call on Dorothy’s family on Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 2-6pm at the Conte Funeral Home in North Andover.
