Diane Dresser (Knowlton) of Reading MA, passed away on December 4, 2023, at the age of 78.
Diane was born on October 9, 1945, to parents Ambrose F. Knowlton and Madeline Knowlton (Greer)of Wakefield MA. Diane grew up in Wakefield with her two sisters Betsy and Nancy. After Diane graduated from Wakefield High School, she attended Nasson College in Maine, where she met Robert Dresser, better known as Bob, who became her lifelong best friend and devoted husband on June 17, 1967.
Bob and Diane started their lives together at their home in Reading, MA where they went on to have two children, William and Luke, who they loved dearly. In her free time, Diane enjoyed reading, bird watching, cooking, shopping, watching Boston sports and spending time with her family. Her family was her sole focus. She especially loved spending quality time with her grandchildren Robbie, Sara, Aidan, Jackson, and Molly, who she proudly doted on and spoiled every chance she got.
Diane was predeceased by her parents, Ambrose F. Knowlton and Madeline Knowlton (Greer); husband Robert (Bob) Dresser; sister Nancy Correia; brother-in-law, Norm Button and her nieces Heather Winsor and Melanie Fioravanti (Joslin).
She is survived by her son William Dresser and wife Ruth, of Palmer MA; son Luke Dresser and wife Colleen, of Walpole MA; sister Elizabeth (Betsy) Button, of Barre VT; brother-law Jack Correia, of Methuen MA; her nephews Derek Winsor and wife Susan, of Weare NH and David Joslin and wife Maryann, of Arnoldsburg, WV. Grandchildren Robert, Sara and Aidan Dresser of Palmer, MA; Jackson and Molly Dresser of Walpole, MA.
Services will be held at Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home in Reading, MA on December 14, 2023 from 4-8PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Diane’s name to either the Reading Public Library or Salem Animal Rescue League.
