Pianist Jeongweon Lee Kicks of Winter Concert Series

READING, MA — The first performance of the Winter Concert Series was held Sunday, December 3, at Reading Public Library. The concert series is joint venture of Reading Public Library and Creative Arts.

About John Lee

Jeongweon (John) Lee is a pianist, composer, and dedicated church musician. With a rich background in various keyboard instruments and a vast repertoire, John has devoted over ten years to serving various faith communities in the Boston area. His journey in music began at the age of nine with classical piano, and he later expanded his skills in contemporary music styles, including Jazz, Funk, Latin, and Gospel, upon moving to the United States.

During his adolescence, John’s multicultural experiences in Europe profoundly influenced his music, imbuing it with a unique blend of styles and genres. As a musician deeply committed to the spiritual life of the communities he serves, John has made significant contributions through his compositions and arrangements, enriching the worship experiences of many.

In the United States, John studied at Berklee College of Music and went on to complete his Master of Sacred Music program at Boston University where he studied with Professor Peter Sykes.

His main study focuses on a broad spectrurn of composers’ works from the Baroque, Romantic, and 19th to 20th century. John is also deeply engaged in theological studies, exploring their interplay with the spirituality of his musicianship.

John serves as the Music Director at First Congregational Church in Salem, where he continues to blend musical genres and styles, bringing a dynamic and enriching
