Good afternoon,
My name is Charlie Weld, and I am a Life Scout with Troop 702. As a requirement of the Communications Merit Badge, I am writing a short email to you about a subject I’ve been thinking about.
Since the start of my scouting career as a Cub Scout, the Town Forest has been the home of countless events and camping trips. However, we’ve become disconnected from it. Ever since the rehabilitation project the has been going on in the forest(cutting down all the old, sick trees), the town forest hasn’t felt the same. The path of destruction left behind makes me feel like it’s no longer the quiet place it once was. Everything is so much more open and exposed, there is debris covering much of the forest from the removed trees, and it doesn’t feel like as much of a forest.
That’s all I really have to say about this, just thought I’d share.
Thank you,
Charlie Weld
