READING, MA — Susan Sabbatelli, with help from her daughter Lynsie, has launched her first book, the Apple Bear Cookie Book & Song. Born and raised in Reading, Sabbatelli, currently a preschool teacher at the RISE Preschool, started using the book as a poem over thirty years ago as she looked for a fun way to get her kindergarten students to learn the alphabet quickly. The poem then turned into a chant and song, and now, after thirty years, it has been produced as a published book and song.

“Over the last thirty years, children have loved chanting along to The Apple Bear Cookie Song. It’s helped so many kids learn to read quicker. It motivated us to turn it into an affordable book, video, and song for children everywhere,” Sabbatelli commented.

Sabbatelli shared that she dreams of having this book in every preschool and kindergarten classroom. She hopes all children learn to sing and chant along with her book to learn the alphabet, rhyming, word families, consonants vs. vowels, and more. She believes the Apple Bear Cookie Book & Song is the new way young children learn.

Sabbatelli continued to comment that the book would be great for kids up to age six, new parents reading with their kids, preschools, English as a second language learning, and kindergartens.

“Thank you for supporting local businesses and for supporting a local teacher who has given back to students in Wakefield, Melrose, and Saugus, Massachusetts schools throughout her years as an early childhood educator,” Sabbatelli concluded. Those interested can visit the Apple Bear Cookie Co.’s website, to watch the book and song in action. The book may be purchased on the website for only $10.
