Obituary: Vincenza (Argiro) DeLuca, 96

December 16, 1926 ~ November 6, 2023

Vincenza (Argiro) DeLuca, beloved wife of the late John DeLuca, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 6, 2023, at the age of 96. Born in Boston, she was the loving daughter of the late Nicholas Argiro and Maria (Gulla) Argiro.

Vincenza (“Vicki”) grew up in the North End of Boston. For many years, as she settled in Somerville, she owned and operated her own variety store in Somerville, which she later shared with her husband, John. When it came time to retire from the store, Vicki and John settled in Reading.

Her home was a place for her family to be together and enjoy her delicious, homemade food. Known to friends of the family as the “Food Palace,” Vicki’s home was always a welcome place to eat, play cards, entertain by the pool, and be together, creating lasting memories. She was also an avid Red Sox fan and a woman of faith. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends.

Devoted mother of Donna Snow and her husband David of Reading. Cherished grandmother of Christopher Snow and his partner Jacey Vaughan of Wakefield and Nicole Snow and her partner Connor McDermott of Reading and great-grandmother of Summer Snow. Beloved sister of Joseph Argiro and the late Marion Gingola, Catherine Strazzula, Jane Torname, and Theresa Palermo. She is also the aunt to many loving nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Vicki’s Life will be held at a later date.
