Reading Fall Street Faire Celebrating 15 Years

Sunday September 10 Noon – 5 PM

Reading, MA — Fifteen years ago, a group of volunteers organized a downtown Street Faire to bring community together and celebrate our local businesses. The Reading Fall Street Faire has since grown into one of the biggest local community festivals in the area. Organized by the Reading Rotary Club, the Faire requires a steering committee of more than twelve individuals, enormous support from local businesses, and a high level of collaboration from the Town. Always held on the first Sunday after Labor Day, this year’s Fall Street Faire will take place on Sunday, September 10 from Noon – 5 pm in downtown Reading. And there are some exciting changes.

“After fifteen years, we thought it was time to reinvigorate the Fall Street Faire with some new branding,” Reading Fall Street Faire Committee member Jeanne Borawski explains. “Thanks to a generous sponsorship from the Salem Five Charitable Foundation and collaboration with Lynda Zarrow at Pigeon Cove Graphic Design, we are launching a brand new logo! We also have a new website: readingfallstreetfaire.com. It’s fun to imagine this beloved community event moving into the next fifteen years with a new look and feel.”

The Reading Fall Street Faire is only possible because of the support of local businesses. “We couldn’t run an event of this scope without our sponsors,” explains Reading Fall Street Faire Committee member Jennifer Rogers. Sponsorship opportunities are available at a number or price points and offer the chance for businesses in Reading to get recognized by the thousands of people who attend the Reading Fall Street Faire every year.

There is a new way for Reading residents to support the Fall Street Faire this year too. For a donation of $100, families and businesses can post a lawn sign to show their support of the Reading Fall Street Faire. The sign proudly announces that they are a fan of the Reading Fall Street Faire. Sheila Clarke, long-time member of the Fall Street Faire Committee and President of the Reading Rotary Club, says, “We are so lucky to enjoy the support of local businesses. Over the years we’ve heard that families want to show their support as well. For our fifteenth year, we thought this was a great way to allow families in town to show their love and support for this beloved community event, and the great work done by the Reading Rotary Club to support our town, schools, and local non-profits.” Every year the Reading Rotary Club raises and contributes more than ten thousand dollars to a variety of local non-profits including the Reding Food Pantry, The Reading Scholarship Foundation, and the Reading Education Foundation. Do you love the Fall Street Faire? Do you have fond memories of bringing your kids there each year? Show off your gratitude with a Fan of the Reading Fall Street Faire lawn sign. This donation is tax-deductible.

Plans are underway for the best Street Faire ever. As usual, there will be three stages with live music and dance performances all afternoon. There will be food trucks and vendors with delicious treats throughout the Faire route. More than one hundred local businesses, non-profits, and groups will have booths along the Faire Route. The fourth annual Cornhole Tournament starts at 2 p.m. Don’t forget thee Dunk Tank, Children’s Activity Area for kids under ten, and the Beer Garden for folks over 21. There will be an inflatable zone for kids who want to jump, bounce, and play. This year, there are also plans for real amusement rides as well. You won’t want to miss it.
