MBTA Communities Survey for Future Zoning Considerations

Reading, MA — In relation to the “MBTA Communities Law” (Section 3A of the Zoning Act), Town of Reading planning staff is seeking community input and opinions on the forms of multi-family housing preferred, where such forms are desirable, and the concerns around such. In short, the law requires a Zoning Bylaw provision that provides at least one district of reasonable size in which multi-family housing is allowed by-right. Reading does NOT currently comply with the law. Your input will help guide the future zoning language to be developed.

You may access the survey here. For more information and to subscribe for updates, please visit the project webpage here. You may also access either through the attached flyer. We encourage public participation and question, as well as communicating the effort with your neighbors, families, and friends. If you have any questions or trouble please reach out to Community Development Director Andrew MacNichol (amacnichol@ci.reading.ma.us) and Senior Planner Mary Benedetto (mbenedetto@ci.reading.ma.us).
