November 22, 1937 — May 6, 2023
Dennis A. Moreno, of Reading, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2023, at home with his family by his side. He was 85 years of age.
Dennis loved spending time with his grandchildren, going to breakfast at Pignone’s restaurant with his good friends, and frequent lunch gatherings with close relatives. He enjoyed playing cribbage on Friday nights in a league and was a member of the North Reading Moose Lodge. He enjoyed game night at home playing scrabble after dinner with his family, doing crossword puzzles in the morning paper or any paper for that matter. He always wanted to control the kitchen and could always be seen cooking breakfast in the morning, lunch and dinner. He also spent time playing cards like solitaire, sorry, parchese and many other fun games with Olivia, Rita and Joanne. He was an avid fan of Notre Dame football. Dennis held various jobs in both the construction and food service industries.
He was also a loving caring person as he would drive Rita to her doctor appointments, order pizza dough for Dicara’s bakery and was always there for anyone who was hurting and offered great support. He had a great big heart and always cared about and helped other people.
He celebrated many birthday parties at home with his family, along with his very special 85th birthday party that was held in November 2022. He also survived COVID twice.
Dennis is the loving husband of Rita (DiMattia) Moreno. He is the devoted father of Richard Moreno and his wife Joanne (Picardi). Cherished grandfather of Oliva Moreno and Hannah Mackay. Dear brother of the late David Moreno and his late wife Danielle of Medford. Step-brother of Paul Witkowski and his wife Dianne of Middleborough. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
