Whitelam Books is thrilled to welcome children’s author Cathy Ballou Mealey for the launch of her new children’s book Make More S’mores on Saturday, May 13, at 3:00 PM. This funny rhyming tale of friendship and kindness follows Roscoe, the raccoon, and his animal friends in a celebration of everyone’s favorite campfire treat.
Author Cathy Ballou Mealey will lead children through a fun, imaginative activity to create a campfire then read her fantastic new book. She’ll be available to talk to young readers about writing a book, answer questions, and sign copies of Make More S’mores. While we love a real s’more, none will be served at this event as marshmallows, melted chocolate, little hands, and new books don’t go together very well. However, parents and caretakers are strongly encouraged to take kids home for real homemade s’mores after the event.
