Francis (Frank) Allen Rosenkrans, 81, a retired corporate pilot for Celanese and Whitewinds, died after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease at the Walter T. Patrick hospice house in Rock Hill, South Carolina, on April 29, 2023. Frank was a pilot for Celanese Operations from 1974 until 1998 and then for Whitewinds until his retirement in mid-2000.
He flew captain on the many various planes beginning with the Cesna 152 and ended his career on a Global Express. Frank grew up in Reading, MA, and spent additional time out on Cape Cod, in East Dennis, MA. He was a 1959 graduate of Reading High School. He joined the Air force in 1961 and served our country until 1965. Frank was born on May 19, 1941 in Needham, MA and married his high school sweetheart Dorothea (Dottie) Virginia Rosenkrans on September 19, 1964 in Reading, MA.
Post retirement included travels with friends, entertaining at their home in Sebastian, Fl , spending time with family, boating, biking, early morning coffee trips, and cheering on their grandchildren at their many, many events.
He is survived by his by his sons James Rosenkrans (Kristin) of Waxhaw, NC, Jeff Rosenkrans of Sebastian, Fl, Tim Rosenkrans of Salem, NH and grandchildren Connor, Jack, Mary Morgan Sholter, Catherine Sholter, Meredith, and Victoria; sisters Charlotte (Vinny) Caputto of East Dennis, MA, Ginny (Fred) Asmussen of East Kingston, NH; brothers Richard (Peggy) Rosenkrans of Santa Barbara, CA, Jerry (Eileen) Rosenkrans of New Market, AL, and Bill (Donna) Rosenkrans of Naples, FL and many loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 60 years Dorothea V. Rosenkrans in Sebastian, FL March 2020, father Francis A. Rosenkrans in East Dennis, MA January 1999 and mother Charlotte V. Rosenkrans in Framingham, MA October 2007.
Services will be a family celebration of life at their two favorite vacation spots; Lake Winnipesaukee and Cape Cod later this summer, more details to be shared at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or to your charity of choice in his memory.
