Carol “Joan” Van Horn, 92, of Manchester, NH, passed away on January 23, 2023.
Born on December 29, 1930, she was the daughter of James F. and Nettie (Foster) Loughlin.
Joan was raised in Reading, MA, where she graduated from Reading High School, Class of 1948. Later, she moved to Haverhill, MA, where she graduated from the Fay School of Boston, Class of 1950.
Joan was employed with New England Telephone for ten years. She went on to work for American Airlines, which gave her the opportunity to travel.
She moved to Manchester to be close to family. She was a member of Saint Catherine of Sienna Parish.
Joan loved to dance. She performed in many talent shows and taught dancing at Reynolds Dance Academy. She and her husband were avid antique collectors, never passing a flea market or yard sale.
She was predeceased by her husband and the love of her life, Richard Van Horn; and a sister, Lorraine Reynolds.
Family members include two nieces, caregiver Judith Vitale, of Manchester and Deborah Reynolds, of Washington; two great-nephews, Ronald DiBurro of Hooksett and Cody Reynolds of Washington; a great-niece, Stacia DiBurro Skafas of Hooksett; two stepsons, Thomas Van Horn of Amherst and William Van Horn of Freedom.
Services will be announced in the Spring.
