August 17, 1951 ~ October 27, 2022

Cheryl Lee Tucker, age 71, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022. Born in Malden, MA, on August 17, 1951, she was the much-loved daughter of Dorothy L. (Parsons) Tucker and the late Emerson W. Tucker.

Cheryl spent the first four years of her life in Everett, MA, and then lived in Hendersonville, NC, until she was thirteen. She moved back to the northeast with her family in 1963, residing in Reading, MA, until 2019. For many years she lived in the family home and later proudly moved into her own apartment at Peter Sanborn Place. In August 2019, she moved to a Bridgewell group home located in Wakefield, MA. Throughout her life, Cheryl enjoyed bowling, square dancing, reading, crossword puzzles, craft projects, and spending time with friends and family. Cheryl was a talented swimmer, competing in the Special Olympics. She worked for many years at Shaw’s Supermarket as a bagger, previously at an EMARC-sponsored worksite, and at Winchester Hospital as a volunteer in the laundry department.

For several years she participated in programs at Spectrum Adult Day Health in North Andover. She was a devoted Christian attending Old South United Methodist Church in Reading, MA, for many years. Cheryl traveled extensively with her parents visiting numerous parts of the U.S. as well as New Zealand, Australia, and Europe, and often spent her winter months in Punta Gorda, Florida, with her parents.

Cheryl was the cherished sister of Joyce White and her husband Jonathan (Orleans, MA), Donna Ramer and her husband Rick (BelAir, MD), and David Tucker and his wife Denise (Marietta, GA). She was the loving aunt to two nieces and three nephews and a great aunt to one. Cheryl was a bright light who brought joy, hugs, and lots of love to all of us. She is greatly missed and will forever be in our hearts.

A Memorial Service celebrating Cheryl’s life will be held at the Brooksby Village Chapel, 100 Brooksby Village Drive, Peabody, MA, on January 26, 2023, at 2:00 pm. Interment will be held privately at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
