Obituary: Virginia M. (Muise) Burnham, 91

September 13, 1930 – August 8, 2022

Virginia M. (Muise) Burnham, a resident of Reading for 25 years, formerly of Gloucester, passed away at her home on August 8, 2022.

Virginia was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, on September 13, 1930, the daughter of the late Edward J. and Alice M. (White) Muise. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert A. Burnham. Devoted mother of Robert A. Burnham, Jr. of Boston; Jacquelyn Mason and her husband Paul of Gloucester and Donna M. Keane of N. Reading. Loving grandmother of Holly Fergusson, Matthew Mason, Paul Mason, Jr.; Shannon Weinstein, and Meredith Keane.

Nana, Ginge, and Girly as she was known to her friends and family, was one of a kind. She was the most independent, hardworking, tough 91-year-old anyone has ever met. She was so kind, unselfish and nurturing that she was born to be a mother/grandmother. She will be sorely missed for her sense of humor and the way she would bluntly speak her mind no matter what. She loved her family. She would do anything for them and they will miss her dearly.

Visiting hours will be held for Virginia at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (Corner of Woburn St.) Reading on Thursday August 11 from 4-7 pm. Funeral Services and burial are private.
