Jill M. (McLaughlin) Hennigar of Reading passed away on Wednesday, July 13th, 2022. She is the beloved wife of the late Dana Hennigar.
Jill grew up in Melrose and is a graduate of Melrose High School, class of 1952. She then attended and graduated from Westbrook Jr. College in 1954. Jill was a lifelong member of the Meadowbrook Golf Club and enjoyed daily walks down Van Norden Road. She would always stop to talk to neighbors and take in the scenery resting on the stone wall. Jill tended to her many beautiful gardens and loved the outdoors. She was an avid reader and spent many good times with her book club friends. Jill was a devoted Boston sports fan, with the Red Sox being her favorite team. Her greatest joy came from being with her loving family. She will be greatly missed by many friends and family.
Jill was the devoted Mother of Lisa Kelley and her husband Michael of Burlington, William Hennigar of Reading, Sandra Dalton and her husband Daniel of Newbury and the late Andrew Hennigar. Beloved Daughter of the late Frank and Dorris (Chisholm) McLaughlin. Loving Sister of the late Judith MacLeod and her late husband Duncan. Cherished Grandmother of Michelle, Sharon, Tracey, Lindsay, Shannon, Shane and Jenna. Great grandmother of Jacob, Andrew, Troy, Brett, Charlotte, Connor and Owen. Jill is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., (corner of Park St. and route 28.), NORTH READING at Reading line on Tuesday, July 19th from 4-8pm. Funeral Service will be held for Jill in the Union Congregational Church, 148 Haverhill St., North Reading on Wednesday, July 20th at 11am. Interment private. Please omit flowers and make donations to a charity of your choice.
