Theresa Keough of Stoneham, formerly of Somerville and Chelsea passed away peacefully on Friday, June 3, 2022. She was 96 years old. Beloved wife of the late Paul J. Keough. Born on August 30th, 1925 in Everett. Theresa was the loving daughter of the late Theresa (Claffey) McCann and Charles McCann.
Devoted mother of Karen Buonopane and her husband George, Dr. Paul Keough and his wife Priscilla, Patricia Barnes and her husband Robert and Jean Johnson and her husband Barry. Theresa was the cherished grandmother of Michael Barnes and Lauren Bellao, George Buonopane, Paul Keough, Krysta Green, William, Pierce, and Katrina Keough, and Drew and Erica Johnson as well as 10 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Eleanor Cataldo and Josephine Kennedy of Lynn, and the late Dorothy Buonopane, Rita Jensen, Charles, Peter and James McCann. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Theresa was a fierce and loving matriarch and devoted to her family. She made a point to speak with all 4 sisters every day if possible. She worked for many years for the US Postal Service in South Boston and Somerville.
She was a woman of great faith and a proud parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in Somerville and upon her move to Stoneham St. Joseph’s in Woburn and St. Patrick’s in Stoneham. She rarely missed her twice weekly Bingo.
Theresa was an avid reader and was always crocheting. Many family and friends will enjoy her afghans for years to come.
She was loved by her family and friends for her 96 years and will be sorely missed by all.
