William R Sigsbury, 85, a Reading resident passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the Lahey Clinic and Medical Center in Burlington.
The son of the late Earl and Mary (Mills) Sigsbury, he was born in Melrose Massachusetts on December 2, 1936. William grew up in Melrose where he attended local schools. William married Madeline Merrill 65 years ago. They moved to Reading in 1963 and raised a family.
William was a machinist mechanic for Polaroid Corporation, and, prior to that, he owned his own gas stations. William owned one on Wyoming Avenue in Melrose, one on Route 1 in Saugus, and a Getty Station in Oak Grove in Melrose. He loves spending time with his family and friends and time at his vacation home in Gunstock Acres in Guildford, New Hampshire. William was proud of his family and loved all of his pets.
We will always miss him and his good sense of humor.
William is the beloved husband of Madeline (Merrill) Sigsbury. He is the devoted father of William Sigsbury and his wife Elizabeth, Lorraine C. Reppucci and her late husband James, Duane R. Sigsbury and his wife Courtney and the late David Sigsbury. The cherished grandfather of Marilyn Sigsbury, Crystal Reppucci, Robert Sigsbury and his wife Alison, Kelly Imperato and her husband Patrick, Dylan Sigsbury and the late James Reppucci, William is the loving great grandfather of Thomas, Greyson and Carter. He is the dear brother of the late Early Sigsbury, Ronald Sigsbury, Shirley Dolezsar and Barbara Gricci. William is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Funeral Mass Celebrating William’s Eternal Life will be held on Wednesday, May 18th at 10:30am in Saint Agnes Church, 186 Woburn Street, Reading. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with William’s Family prior to the Mass from 8:30am – 10:00am in the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden Street, READING. Interment Charles Lawn Memorial Park, Reading.
