Thomas K. Murray, of Reading, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 27, 2022. He was 85 years of age.
Tom graduated from Reading Memorial high school and had a full scholarship to Indiana State. After coming home from the army, he moved up to Denmark, Maine, then Port Clyde Maine before returning to Reading. He worked for the Quinlan Company in Wakefield, where he retired in 1997.
Tom loved meeting friends uptown for coffee and scratching scratch tickets. He loved coming down to Cape Cod to spend time with his daughters going out to dinner at some of his favorite spots like Seafood Sam’s and Whimpy’s. He loved sitting on the back deck watching the birds and telling stories. Tom was a storyteller. He loved telling you stories and he loved hearing your story. He was kind, funny, sweet, and a wonderful dad. He will be deeply missed.
Thomas is the beloved father of Susan Murray, Dana Herbert, and the late Martin Herbert. He is the devoted brother of Richard Murray and the late Donald Murray. Former husband of the late Susan Colby. Loving brother-in-law of Nancy Colby and Ann Lankowski. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with Thomas’ family on Saturday, April 2, 2022, in the Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING from 1 pm to 3 pm. Parking attendants and elevator available.
