Nancy Lorraine Anderson of Tewksbury, MA died peacefully surrounded by her family on December 30, 2021. She bravely fought lung cancer for more than a year. Nancy was born in Brockton, MA on December 21, 1948, and grew up in Hanson, MA with her parents, Albert “Bud” and Marjorie Bates, and sister Debbie. Nancy received an Associate Degree from Burdett College and went on to work as a paralegal in law firms. She married Richard Kenneth Anderson in 1975. They proudly raised three children in Reading, MA, and enjoyed spending time all together at their home on Lake Winnipesaukee, NH. Some of the family’s favorite memories were made there. Nancy was a kind and loving mother, Nana, and friend with an excellent sense of humor. She was an avid golfer and skier and cherished time spent with her family and friends. She loved to travel, read, cook, do crafts and puzzles and play games.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Richy, daughters Jill Popp of Andover, MA, Jen Poirier (husband Dan) of Concord, NH and son Brian (wife Judy) of Reading, MA and four wonderful grandchildren whom she adored: Lucas and Nathan Popp and Ella and Hannah Poirier. She is also survived by her sister, Debbie Derrossett, of Glen Burnie, MD, and her children, Christine McCracken (husband Joseph) and Kenny Derrossett.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at the Old South United Methodist Church 6 Salem St. Reading at 11AM. Burial is private and there are no visiting hours
