POLICE TRAINING ROOM AND OFFICE RENOVATION

PROJECT #22-08

The Town of Reading, invites sealed bids from qualified bidders for the Reading Police Training Room and Office Renovation at 15 Union Street, Reading, MA. 

The project consists of renovation of an existing undeveloped second-floor space into a Training Room (approximately 900sf) and renovation of an existing community room (approximately 820sf) into an office area in a continuously-occupied Police Facility. Work includes Architectural and MEP/FP improvements and ancillary work to utility tie-ins. 

Sealed bids for the filed sub-trades designated below will be received until 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.

Section 23 0000 HVAC

Section 26 0000 Electrical

Sealed bids for the General Contract will be received until 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 3, 2022.

In order to be eligible to bid on this Contract, a General Bidder must be certified for the estimated project cost. The general bidder must be certified in General Building Construction

Bidding procedures and award of the Contract will be in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 149 of the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as amended.

A pre-bid conference will be held at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, commencing at the Reading Police Station, 15 Union Street, Reading, MA.

The minimum wages to be paid for all labor on the project are established in a schedule issued by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development, in accordance with Section 26A – 27D, of Chapter 149 of the M.G.L., as amended, said schedule being made a part of the Contract Documents and is included therein.

Section 6(f) of Chapter 64H of Massachusetts General Laws exempts Massachusetts sales tax on building materials and supplies to be used in the project, and bidders shall not include in their bids any amount therefore.
