Reading, MA – Metro Credit Union, Massachusetts’ largest state-chartered credit union, today announced Ilva Velmishi has joined the Credit Union as Branch Manager of its newest branch location-based in Reading. The Reading branch, located at 470 Main Street, is scheduled to open in January 2022.
In her role, Velmishi will oversee management of the full-service branch office, ensuring exceptional member service, optimizing operating efficiency, and promoting Metro Credit Union within the community. She will be responsible for day-to-day supervision and leadership of branch staff.
Prior to joining Metro Credit Union, Velmishi held a similar role as an Assistant Branch Manager at East Boston Savings Bank. She has worked within the financial services industry for over 13 years and has advanced knowledge of customer service, management, and sales.

Velmishi received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Alexander Xhuvani University in Albania. She is a Notary Public, NMLS Certified, and earned her Branch Management Certificate from the Massachusetts Bankers Association.
