Obituary: John J. Gatta, 39

John J. Gatta, age 39, of Methuen formerly of Reading passed away at his home unexpectedly, January 19, 2021. Born in Winchester, he was the son of the late Joseph and Maureen K. (Sullivan) Gatta.

John was raised in Reading and was lovingly cared for by his devoted nana the late Margaret Sullivan. For many years John attended NuPath in Woburn and also enjoyed being involved with the Brio Integrated Theatre program of Winchester which he always looked forward to interacting and participating in their many different events and productions. John also loved to workout at the YMCA of Malden, he loved animals and was an avid Boston sports fan. However, his greatest joy was his family and he especially enjoyed being with his many loving nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his late parents and nana, John is also predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Antonio and Angela Gatta.

He is survived by his devoted siblings, Colleen Moulton and her husband Arthur of Tewksbury, Joseph Gatta of Wakefield, Craig Gatta of Lawrence, Daniel Gatta and his wife Melanie of Oakridge, NC, Alicia Soares and her husband Jack of Methuen, Aaron Gatta and his wife Rachel of Reading. He was the loving uncle of Jacob and Danielle Moulton, John, Ryan, Dean and Lucy Gatta, Jacqueline, Jeremiah and Zephaniah Soares, Justin, Caleb and Carina Gatta. Further survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the McLaughlin – Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, TUESDAY, January 26th, from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated, Wednesday, January 27th, at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham. All attending must wear a face mask and adhere to strict social distancing protocols. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in John’s memory to Brio Integrated Theatre, PO Box 29, Winchester MA 01890.
