Christina M.(Capobianco) Hannigan- Melchionda of Reading, 48, was born into eternal life on Sunday, December 13, 2020, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Boston, the beloved daughter of Maryanne (Richmond) and the late Francis D. Capobianco Jr., she was raised in Quincy and made her home in Reading for the last 4 years. Christina is survived by her devoted husband Michael. She was the proud and loving mother of Thomas P. Hannigan. She was the beloved sister of Francis D Capobianco III (Valerie Solimini) and Andrea L. Capobianco (Robert Aloise). She was the beloved aunt of Joseph A. Capobianco and Matthew F Capobianco. Christina was a beloved niece, cousin, and friend to many.
Christina was a proud and decorated Army veteran, who served admirably and survived an IED during her tour of duty in Iraq. Christina was a former MBTA police officer and a long time conductor for the Amtrak/MBCR/Keolis. Christina will be remembered always as a great woman of grace, strength, and integrity, who lived joyfully and loved deeply.
A visitation will be held at Douglass, Edgerley & Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading on Friday, December 18 from 4-8 pm. Masks must be worn and social distancing observed. Due to the pandemic, her Funeral Mass at St. Agnes Church will be private.
