Patricia P. (Pierce) Fitzgerald, 66, beloved wife of Thomas P. Fitzgerald, died Friday, December 4, 2020, at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading.
Born in Salem, MA, she was the daughter of the late Robert F. and Dorothy (Coleman) Pierce. She received her education in the Salem School system before moving to Concord, NH at the age of eleven. She graduated from Concord High School, class of 1972, and earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire, class of 1976.
Tricia had a passion for politics and following her graduation from college, she worked as a political consultant for Ted Kennedy’s presidential campaign. She continued her love of politics in supporting Bill Clinton for president in 1992, helping to flip Middlesex County from a Republican to a Democratic majority.
Tricia also partnered with her husband in his business, Access Creative Group in Reading. A longtime resident of the Town of Reading, she was actively involved in parent groups, fundraisers and volunteered her time throughout her son’s school years, especially during his time at Austin Preparatory School in Reading.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her husband, with whom she shared thirty-seven years of marriage, she is survived by her son, Thomas P. Fitzgerald Jr. of Reading, a sister, Dorothy (Pierce) O’Donnell, and her husband, E. Carey O’Donnell Jr. of Miami, FL, a brother, Robert Pierce Jr. and his wife Susan (O’Brien) Pierce of Danvers, her godmother, Roz (Coleman) Powers of Salem, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Carmelite Monastery, 15 Mt. Carmel Rd., Danvers, MA 01923.
