Sub-Division Plan off of Franklin Street Approved

The Community Planning and Development Commission (CPDC) approved the subdivision plan for a new development at 48-54 Franklin Street on Monday, September 25. The 5.83 acre site with 400 feet of frontage on Franklin Street sits across from the Wood End Cemetery and will have six one-family homes situated on a cul-de-sac. The development will be called Barton Estates.

The subdivision, built by S&L Homes, LLC, will include sidewalks and granite curbing. A portion of the site will be set aside as conservation land and a walking trail from the cul-de-sac to the conservation land will be included in the neighborhood, allowing access to the Bare Meadow conservation land. The site is currently divided into two lots, one of which is vacant and is the site of two recently razed homes, the other has a single family home which will be razed to allow the two lots to be combined into one tract. Once completed, all six lots will comply with current zoning requirements.

The CPDC voted 3-0 to approve the plan.
