Reading Village Applicant Needs More Time

The special Zoning Board of Appeals meeting, previously scheduled for August 25 to hear updates regarding the proposed 40B Reading Village development on Lincoln and Prescott streets, will be postponed without any testimony. According to the Reading Village applicant, MKM Reading, LLC, the civil engineering plans have not yet been finalized. No new information has been submitted to town staff since the last hearing on July 21, rendering the hearing superfluous. MKM Reading agreed to a continuance and agreed to offer an extension of the time needed for the process to conclude.

Reading VillageThe brief meeting will be called to order at 7:00 PM at the Pleasant Street Senior Center, and the only business will be the granting of the continuance. Reading Town Counsel Raymond Miyares advised, “Given that they have requested a continuance without testimony, and that this was a specially-scheduled meeting of the ZBA, it seems preferable to spare having staff and the board members all show up just to vote on a continuance.” ZBA Chair David Traniello has agreed to be present to officially continue the hearing until September 22.
