Dates for Community Meetings on Override, Election; Special Town Meeting on Senior Tax Relief
The Board of Selectmen at their meeting on August 9th voted to hold a special election on October 18th at the Hawkes Field House for the purpose of having the voters consider a Proposition 2 1/2 override to be used for town government and school district services. In their information packet for that meeting, the Selectmen were given the following calendar of important dates by Town Manager Robert LeLacheur.
- August 16th - Selectmen hold joint meeting with School Committee and Board of Library Trustees to discuss the amount of the Override question. Selectmen plan to determine the size of Override and format of ballot question.
- August 31st - Finance Committee Review of Proposed Override.
- September 1st - Community Financial Forum at RMHS Performing Arts Center.
- September 12th - Special Town Meeting to consider Senior Tax relief (Warrant for Town Meeting will discussed at August 16th Board of Selectmen Meeting)
- October 18th – Special Election for Override.
