Samantha’s Harvest is hosting its annual 5K Family Walk/Run on June 12 at the RMHS track on Oakland Road in Reading. Money raised from the event will support the charity’s mission of helping fund programs that directly enhance the lives of individuals with Down’s Syndrome. Registration for the race starts at 9:00am and the race begins promptly at 10:00am. For the first time, the race will be officially timed and the first male and first female to finish in each age group will receive a prize. Volunteers are needed to assist in several areas and anyone interested may come to the track at 9:00am for breakfast and to receive an assignment.
Festivities, including a raffle, will continue at Bunratty Tavern in downtown Reading after the race. A portion of the day’s proceeds will be donated back to Samantha’s Harvest.
Families and individuals are welcome to register online at running4free.com for $25 ($30 on day of race). Only cash registrations can be accepted on the day of the race.
