Tickets are now on sale at https://cur8.com/19736/project/137330. \nThe inspiring 60-minute musical is based on the 1992 Disney film Newsies and the 2012 Broadway production of the same name. The cast and crew include over 110  students with direction and design by Stephen MacDonald\, music direction by Jennifer DiMuzio\, and choreography by  Nancy Katz. \n\nMr. MacDonald reminds us that “this production is a community event. With over 100 Parker Middle School families involved in the show\, the reach is larger than normal. We are excited to welcome families and community members into the RMHS Performing Arts Center to witness this story about strength\, community\, friendship\, and the idea of family\, both chosen family and family by birth. We are telling a story based off of real people\, real struggles\, and real victories; our production is entertaining\, but also relevant to today”. \nIt’s time to carry the banner with Disney’s NewsiesJR.! You’ll be doing flips for the rousing tale of Jack Kelly\, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of young newsies in Manhattan. When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsies’ expense\, Jack rallies young workers from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what’s right! Adapted especially for young performers\, this musical features a Tony Award®-winning score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony Award® winner Harvey Fierstein\, and includes rousing songs like “Carrying the Banner\,” “Seize the Day\,” and “King of New York.” Newsies JR.is packed with nonstop thrills and a timeless message perfect for the whole family and every audience.
