DESCRIPTION:Reading\, MA – The Reading Recreation Division is happy to announce the return of the Children’s Performance Series\, a beloved summer tradition for local families! Beginning Wednesday\, July 9\, families are invited to enjoy free live performances every Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Park. \nEach week features a dynamic lineup of kid-friendly entertainers guaranteed to bring music\, laughter\, and fun for all ages. Performances will take place outdoors in the park\, providing a vibrant\, community-focused atmosphere that celebrates summer in Reading. \nParking is available on Charles Street and Harrison Street. \nPlease note that there are no rain dates for performances. In the event of inclement weather\, updates will be posted by 9:00 a.m. on the day of the show on the homepage of readingrec.com\, or you can call the Recreation Division directly at (781) 942-9075. DESCRIPTION:Reading Public Library (RPL)\, Reading\, MA—Whether you like to tell a good story or read it\, the Library’s got you covered this summer with programs for adults and teens. \nTake an hour to spend time with your summer read. At our Silent Reading Parties\, you come to the Library with your book. Read it in silence\, in the company of other readers\, for an hour\, and finally\, gather in the Community Room to enjoy refreshments and talk with others about your book(s). \nSilent Reading Parties will be held on July 7 at 2:30 p.m.\, July 23 at 6:00 p.m.\, and August 9 at noon. \nIf you’re ready to take your writing from the page to the stage\, check out our workshops held in collaboration with Reading’s Writers’ Collaborative Learning Center and the professionals at Redwood Speaking. You’ll learn how to write\, refine\, and tell a compelling story.
