Members Explore Quilt Exhibits in Lowell and Invite New Members to Join Monthly Craft Workshops

Reading, MA — On October 20, a group from the Wakefield Arts & Crafts Society visited the NE Quilt Museum in Lowell. Led by museum docent Patrice Denault, also a WACS member, we toured this lovely, modern, well-lit space full of fabulous works. A Chinese refugee artist made the flowers in the photo. Members posing with one of the quilts are Jo Ann Rondelli, Nancy Smethurst, Ted Smethurst, Elaine Grosso, Peggy Soper, Nancy Kauffman, and Patrice Denault. The other quilt is from a visiting exhibit of hand-sewn quilts, except for some of the piecing.
Our next meeting on November 3 at 10 AM will feature a jewelry-making workshop led by Sue Underwood. Guests are welcome with a $10 fee, which can go toward membership. The Wakefield Arts and Crafts Society welcomes new members with and without crafting experience. Existing members come from Wakefield and many surrounding towns, including Reading, North Reading, Melrose, Malden, Everett, Lynn, Tewksbury, Billerica, and Stoneham. Visit us online at facebook.com/WakefieldArtsandCraftsSociety. Please contact us at WakefieldArtsCraftsSociety@gmail.com for more information.
Members can make a new craft every month for free. We always have discounted craft supplies available at our meetings, and members share their crafting expertise. We meet on the first Tuesday of the month from 10 AM to approximately 1 PM.
