Obituary: Felicita (Mazza) Mauro, 84

Dec 22, 1941 — Oct 15, 2026

Felicita (Mazza) Mauro of Reading passed away peacefully at home on October 15, 2026, surrounded by her family and held in the comfort of her faith. She was 84.

Born in Rotondi, Avellino, Italy, she was the beloved daughter of the late Pasquale and Grazielle (DiRizzo) Mazza.

She was the beloved wife of the late Luigi Mauro; devoted mother of Elvira Tahajian and her husband Leo of Lexington, Rita MacKeil and her husband Mike of Reading, Emilio Mauro and his companion Jasmine of Woburn, and the late Elio Mauro; and his wife Michelle Mauro of Reading.

She was the loving grandmother of Sarah, Michael, Grace, and Julia, and the cherished sister of Angelina Mazza, Josephine Di Marco, Lidia Mazza, Stella Mazza, and Franca Mazza.

Known lovingly as “Nonna,” Felicita devoted her life to faith and family. Her warmth, compassion, and generous spirit brought comfort and joy to all who knew her.

Felicita and her beloved husband, Luigi, shared a beautiful and enduring love. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, sacrifice, and cherished traditions. Their home was filled with love, and their family was their greatest blessing.

Felicita’s kitchen was the heart of her home, and her table was where she welcomed everyone with open arms and an open seat. Through Sunday dinners, holiday meals, and countless family gatherings, she prepared each meal with care and created memories that will be treasured for generations. No one ever left her table without feeling nourished and cared for. She loved nature and took great pride in her flowers and garden, nurturing them with the same love and care she gave her family.

Felicita carried the memory of her late husband, Luigi, and her beloved son, Elio, in her heart every day. Their absence was a sorrow she bore with quiet courage, while their love remained a constant part of her life. Her family finds comfort in believing that she is now reunited with them in heaven, where they have welcomed her home with open arms.

Though her family’s hearts are broken by her passing, they are forever grateful for the gift of her life and the memories they shared. She will be missed beyond words, but her love will surround them always.

Forever our mother, forever our Nonna, and forever in our hearts.

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.” — Revelation 21:4
